Youngstown Man Wanted by Mercer, New Castle PSP for Fleeing, Eluding

A 50 year old Youngstown, Ohio man is facing charges related to an incident of Fleeing or attempting to elude a Police Officer Wednesday night in Mercer County.  The Mercer and New Castle State Police report Paul Hill was seen traveling through the median of Interstate 80 at the 3.5 mile marker in Chenango Township, Mercer County about 7 pm.  Police say they spotted the small pickup truck in turn around marked for "emergency vehicles only".  According to the state police information release, Mercer Trooper Justin Martin  attempt a traffic stop at that point.  Hill fled east on Interstate 376 into Lawrence County about twelve miles before exiting on to Kings Chapel Road to Old Pulaski Road North.  Hill then drove his truck about eight miles to State Route 208 where he went west to U.S. Route 433 at the Ohio state line and on into Ohio. 

 

Police say Hill was involved in a hit and run crash before striking another vehicle at the intersection of Commerce and Fifth Ave in Youngstown, Ohio.  Hill stopped at that point and got out of his truck where he was taken into custody.  Youngsville Police investigated the crashes in their area and charged Hill with related offenses.  Charges will be filed in Pennsylvania pending further investigation.
