PSP Nab Meadville Man Hiding Under Bed, Wanted for Multiple Serious Charges

A 40 year old Meadville man is lodge in the Crawford County Correction Facility on numerous charges stemming from an incident a week ago Sunday.  The Meadville state police report at shortly before 4 pm last Thursday Chad Edward Woodrow was apprehended at his home on H Street in the City of Meadville.  The troopers say Woodrow was wanted on charges of aggravated Assault, simple assault and recklessly endangering Another person stemming from an incident in the early morning hours of Sunday April 9.  Police report woodrow had been actively concealing himself and moving from various residences with in the city of Meadville and nearby municipalities.

 

It is reported on Thursday April 13 at about 3:30, troopers received a tip Woodrow was at his residence on H Street in Meadville.  The troopers surrounded the residence and entered at about 3:50 pm.  Woodrow was found inside hiding under a bed on the second floor.  He was taken into custody with minimal resistance and subsequently arraigned before Magisterial district judge Rita Marwood.  Bail was set at $50,000 monetary.  Additional, a detainer was issued by the PA Board of Probation and Parole.  A preliminary hearing is pending.

PSP Drop Venango Twp. Reckless Endangerment Probe

The Meadville state Police report the victim of Reckless Endangerment case is not pressing charges.  The troopers report 49 year old Dean Parker of Edinboro heard three gunshots on Friday night about 8:30 pm while he was in his home along Jericho road in Venango Township, Crawford County.  He said he told his wife their home had been shot and found a small hole on the east side of the residence where his daughter's room is located.  A small projectile was found in the bedroom.  Parker says he drove around the area shortly after the shots were fired said he believed he had an idea where they come from.  Parker further told police he did not want to press charges and wished to end the investigation.

Venango Biker Faces Eluding Cops, Resisting Arrest

A 22 year old motorcycle operator in Venango County faces numerous charges including resisting arrest in connection with an incident Saturday shortly after 5:15 pm.  The Franklin state police report Joel Halterman Lacombe was traveling on Weston Meadville road through the Village of Diamond in a 25 mph zone at 89 mph on his motorcycle.  Lacombe, according to police, then continued  at a high rate of speed passing motorists in an unsafe manner and fialed to stop when the trooper attempted to make a traffic stop.  The trooper obtained the plate number for the bike and shortly afterward terminated the chase. 

 

Charges for Fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, resisting arrest , Reckless driving and other traffic offenses are on file with Magisterial District Count.

A Computer Scam Nearly Everyone Sees Investigated in Hayfield Twp.

A Theft by deception case is under investigation by the Meadville state troopers. The incident was reported about 3 Pm  Friday afternoon by Christina M. Roseberry, 19, at a residence along State Route 98 in Hayfield Township, crawford County.  Police say the incident occurred as Roseberry received a message on her laptop advising her computer had viruses on it provided a phone number to contact in regard to fixing the computer.  She contacted the number as was charged $181.00 to fix the computer.  Then she was contacted about a refund and too much money was put into her bank account.  She was instructed to remove the extra money and purchase I-Tune cards and provide the numbers on the back of the cards.  She subsequently tried to contact the phone number and it has been disconnected.

Franklin Pike Closure in Crawford County Extended

Oil City – The closure of Franklin Pike (SR 2010) in Wayne Township, Crawford County has been extended to April 19. The roadway is closed from the intersection with Rynd Road and Stockton Corners Road to the intersection with Shoemaker Road and Smith Heath Road due to a pipe replacement project. 

 

A detour is posted.
